Pressing & Removing the Print

The inked block now gets placed face-up, and central onto a board for printing. The piece of paper to be printed on is then aligned on top of the block. I carefully slide the board into my corkscrew cast iron printing press and gradually turn the handle until it won’t turn any more, ensuring I am exerting maximum pressure upon the print. Then I unscrew the handle and gently remove the contents from the press. The last and most exciting part is carefully peeling back the paper to reveal the fresh print!
