Working with Cut-Art

This is a medium which works well for simple or decorative pieces with shadows or silhouettes. Artwork is cut carefully from a single piece of black card, making sure that as the light areas are cut away, black areas remain connected, so that the final design is all one piece. Colour can then be added as a layer beneath the card. For ease of use, the black part of the design can be printed onto acetate to form a convenient overlay.
