Line Drawings & Tissue Underlays

Often the starting point can come directly from a line drawing in one of my sketch books. A simple line drawing can be given colour and texture with underlays of hand-coloured tissue, cut to fit the required shapes. Sometimes, I use a watercolour wash as an alternative to the tissue underlays. Either of these techniques adds visual interest, whilst retaining the hand-drawn quality of the original sketch.
