Working with Scraperboard

Resembling a wood engraving in appearance, the medium for a scraperboard is actually a black ink-coated card. When the surface ink is scratched away it reveals the white. Thus the artwork is created in reverse, where the drawing, or scraping away, creates the areas of light. Fine detail can be achieved as the cutting tool is precise and no printing is required to obtain the final image.
