Working With Lino -
Sketch, Transfer & Cutting

Firstly, as with most types of artwork, I start by sketching the design out on paper with pencil. I then transfer the design onto the lino by burnishing the back of the drawing. The lighter, white parts of the image are now cut away - leaving only the darker, black areas behind. These darker, raised parts of the lino will receive the ink for printing later.
